"IT HAS BEEN SAID THAT ARGUING AGAINST GLOBALIZATION IS LIKE ARGUING AGAINST THE LAWS OF GRAVITY"

Angola has passed through several "post-conflic" situations. Angola’s globalization began early in the sixteenth century, when Western trade, religion and technologies of violence started to penetrate the country.
Angola has been influenced by many countries but mainly by the country that colonized them, Portugal. Portugal took over for many years starting when they colonized there in 1483 until they fled in 1970’s. The hundreds of the thousands of Portuguese people fled back to the mother land as well as South Africa, Brazil and other countries. The fame and power Portugal once held over their many nations was at its end. For the next 27 years Angola was engulfed in a civil war. The three major parties fighting for power, UNITA, MPLA and FNLA. Receiving troops from Cuba South Africa and other countries. FNLA was the first group to drop out. Thousands of citizens fled to the capital seeking refuge as it was a safe zone.
Therefore, this trade-link Angola had with India and Southeast Asia, helped it to become a more globalized country. Later on it was a major source of slaves for Portugal's New World colony of Brazil. Development of the interior began after the Berlin Conference in 1885 fixed the colony's borders, and British and Portuguese investment fostered mining, railways, and
agriculture.
